The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update has now officially arrived for all the Nexus devices. The update has arrived to fix the bugs that came along with the original Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade that was released in October.

According to Android Geeks, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update is now available for download on all the Nexus devices like the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9 and Nexus 10. It states that the update had arrived for Nexus tablets around two weeks ago. In the following week, it came to smartphones like Nexus 4 and Nexus 6 and lastly the update arrived for Nexus 5 few days ago.

Users can look for the OTA update by checking for it under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now. If the update does not show up, users can still install the new update by downloading and flashing the device with the appropriate OTA ZIP file, says Android Geeks.

Nexus users who have not updated their devices with Android 5.0.1 update can look for information on the internet on how to update a Nexus device with the most recent Android update manually. As always, it is recommended to perform a backup of your devices data before you the flash your Nexus device with new update.

The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop is an incremental update. Hence, users should not be expecting major enhancements and new features from it. However, it has been designed to fix the frustrating bugs that arrived with the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to enhance the performance of the device.

On Tuesday, IBTimes had published a post on all the major issues associated with 5.0 Lollipop update. Users who have updated their devices with 5.0 Lollipop say that their devices plagued with numerous issues like unstable Wi-Fi connections, faster battery depleting issue, sluggish performance, inability to play online videos conveniently and more.

According to BGR, users can directly opt to install the 5.0.1 Lollipop if they haven't yet installed the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Speculations are rife that a new major update, the Android 5.1 Lollipop is expected to arrive in February 2015 with new features and improvements.
