Android 5.0 Lollipop update is the most recent major system software update for Android devices. The update not only brings material design that makes it visually attractive but also brings with it vital performance improvements. The Android 5.0 Lollipop was first previewed six months ago, but there are many popular smartphones that have yet to receive the update. Here is a lowdown on when the update will arrive for some of the famous smarpthones:

Samsung
Samsung Galaxy S5
According to PhoneArena, the Galaxy S5 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is available across the globe except for carrier versions of the device in the U.S. Owners with Galaxy S5 from carriers like AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon in the U.S. are still running on Android v4 KitKat. PhoneArena assumes that the latest Android build may be made available by the U.S. carriers in the forthcoming weeks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 And Galaxy Note Edge
Both phablets may receive the latest and official Lollipop update before the end of January. However, Samsung has not confirmed on it. Even U.S. carriers are expected to roll out the updates within this period. IBTimes report claims that both Note 4 and Note Edge are expected to receive Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update by skipping out on 5.0 Lollipop.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Official 5.0 Lollipop is not yet available for Galaxy Note 3. PhoneArena says the update is currently in the works and may be made available soon.

Other Samsung smartphones such as Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5 Active, Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 2 are all expected to receive the update but the exact time frame is still not known.

LG
LG G3
LG G3 uses have already started receiving 5.0 Lollipop since November 2014. However, the update is currently available in South Korea and some regions of Europe. In the UK, Vodafone has already released the update to its users in December 2014, reveals a post from Android Authority.

LG G2
The LG G2 is also in line to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop but exact details are not available. The update will also bring the new UI that is available on LG G3, states PhoneArena.

There is no news whether midrange phones from LG are going to receive the update. It also expected to arrive on LG G Pro 2. IBTimes has also pubished a post on Andriod 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC, Motorola and Sony smartphones,
