4.7-Inch iPhone 6 Tipped to Hit Production in July, 5.5-Inch iPhone 6 in August

If conflicting rumours pegging different launch schedules of the iPhone 6 at different times haven't been enough, here is another report claiming the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will enter production as early as next week.

The report which first appeared in the Economic Daily further claims the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 is not expected to hit production lines before the second week of August. Such a production schedule does make one wonder if Apple will have enough stocks of the larger phablet version of the iPhone 6 when it is launched, speculates AppleInsider. Some have also opined that either Apple isn't expecting enough demand for the larger iPhone 6 or will launch the device in phases.

There has been no official confirmation or comment from Apple regarding these production schedules, so readers should take these rumours with a grain of salt.

Previously, early rumours have claimed Apple to launch the iPhone 6 on either Sept 19 or 25. Apple has been following a tradition of launching the new iPhone devices on Fridays.

This comes on the back of earlier rumours of Apple having some issues with the production of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6. The latest that has come across on this is the apparent lack of enough sapphire glass display to ensure these being standard fitment across all iPhone 6 models, as mentioned in Cult of Mac. As revealed in a note to investors from JP Morgan, sapphire glass display have low yield and cost more than the hardened glass displays such as Corning Gorilla displays previous iPhones has had so far.

Meanwhile, the Taiwan-based newspaper Economic Daily further mentioned that Foxconn has hired 100,000 workers extra in anticipation of a huge demand for the iPhone 6. The company is also using robots dubbed Foxbots for speeding things up in the iPhone production process. The Foxbots though will be assigned non-critical tasks such as tightening screws or polishing the devices.

The hype surrounding the launch of the iPhone 6 has reached feverish pitch, as the Cupertino-based company attempts to launch its most ambitious iPhone version so far. It's expected to be the biggest, slimmest and fastest iPhone ever, though battery life will be on the top of the mind of many prospective iPhone buyers.
