Apple iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus are already marred by the Bendgate issue. Both the handsets also faced connectivity issue when Apple had released the iOS 8.1 update. And now, owners of 128 GB edition of both the iPhone 6 models have reported that their handsets are plagued with a hardware issue. Owners are complaining that their 128 GB iPhone 6 handsets are randomly freezing and rebooting.

On the forum site of Apple, there are numerous iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus owners seeking help on the crashing issue. The exact cause of the issue has not been determined yet. However, according to GforGames tech analysts, they have reported that the reason behind crashing and rebooting is because of a fault in the IC of the NAND flash memory.

The issue is happening only on the larger storage edition of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The 16 GB and the 64GB storage model owners have not reported such an issue. Most of the iPhone models features MLC (multi-level cell) NAND flash that are known to be very stable whereas the 128 GB iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 features a different TLC (triple-level cell) NAND flash. GforGames further states that Apple could making use of the TLC NAND flash because SLC (single-level cell) and MLC NAND flash are costlier.

Rumours have it since it is a hardware issue that the Apple might recall 128 GB iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 6 handsets that have encountered the freezing and restarting issue. As of now, Apple has not confirmed the issue and neither spoken anything on recalling the affected iPhone 6 handsets. 9to5mac has confirmed through their sources that the rumours about recall are completely baseless and false.

When Apple had released the problematic iOS 8.0.1, the update had caused the Touch ID sensor and Bluetooth to connection. Moreover, users were not able to able to make phone calls or access web because of network connectivity issue. And now, the 128 GB iPhone 6 owners are reporting about frequent crashing and rebooting.
