Microsoft just unveiled its preview for the upcoming Windows 8 release. Majority of the response regarding Windows 8 has been positive and Microsoft is hoping that this positive thoughts would help in coming up with a tablet worthy of being an "iPad killer".

Windows 8 Preview: A Hit?

Microsoft unknowingly disclosed that the Windows 8 preview caught the interest of many people since its preview has been revealed to the public. Here is what Microsoft has to say over the matter:

Hundreds of thousands of folks have been using the "App Preview" of Mail on a daily basis since the Windows 8 Release Preview.

Presently, Windows 8 has been earning positive reviews regarding this latest OS version. Though there are still some bugs and errors, its performance and speed has considerably improved as compared to the previous version.

Google is also planning to test its Google chrome browser for the Windows 8 Release Preview. Google remarked that it plans to "smooth out" the user interface of the browser for the next months. Google also asked users to provide feedback so that they can address potential problems when running Google Chrome in Windows 8.

Microsoft's iPad Killer

Microsoft is said to be launching a "major" event next week. According to sources, the event would be about Microsoft's new touchscreen tablet which is said to be an "iPad Killer". This tablet would be running on Windows RT which is a version of Windows 8. Details are still scarce as of the moment but in order to beat Apple's iPad, the specifications and features have to be more than what is offered in the saturated tablet market.
