Fans can keep their confidence that "Westworld" season 2 is surely happening after HBO confirmed its renewal last year. HBO Programming President Casey Bloys has previously released statement to confirm the show’s continuation. Although the show is not returning until 2018, fans have high hopes that it will be worth the wait as the next instalment will bring more details about how the hosts work according to showrunner Jonathan Nolan.

In an interview, the “Westworld” showrunner has dropped major hints about the upcoming season. He has also revealed that the next season will focus on the hosts’ source of power. Their construction and their power source is something we’re really going to get into during season 2,” Nolan said.

“Westworld hosts,” noted for their lifelike behaviour and seeming consciousness, may look as if they are becoming more like humans as the series progresses. But unlike the latter, they do not feel emotions or experience death the mortal way.

Nolan described the hosts’ brains as not as delicate as the human brain. Their brains do not need oxygen. Their cognition can be controllable and malleable. These are just some of the most interesting things that viewers have learned about the hosts in “Westworld” season 1. Why they are the way they are and more interesting details are expected to be revealed in season 2.

When asked whether or not Clementine Pennyfeather (Angela Sarafyan) has been killed off, Nolan teased that fans should expect something more complicated than that. Those who have tuned in to “Westworld” season 1 may have been used to seeing the hosts come back to life or repaired when they die in the course of their narratives. But as hosts have minds like humans, something extraordinary is bound to happen to Sarafyan’s character when the show returns.

Nolan has revealed that a part of sweet Clementine’s personality will be removed. “So the person we know as Clementine is largely gone,” the “Westworld” showrunner told Entertainment Weekly.

Nolan has assured “Westworld” fans that they are breaking the second season. He said there are several things that were not discussed during the first season of the show. “One of the really nice things about TV is, you get to go again,” Nolan had said during the New York Comic Con panel.

Official air date for “Westworld” season 2 is yet to be announced. Foxtel has aired “Westworld” season 1 in Australia.
