Novak Djokovic top seeds the 2016 Dubai Tennis Championships in UAE and opens his bid for a fifth tournament title against Spain’s Tommy Robredo.

Djokovic will compete in his first tournament since winning the Australian Open title, where he defeated Andy Murray in the final round. The Serb enters the Dubai Tennis Championships as the top seed and will face Robredo, who will play Djokovic for the ninth time in their head-to-head battles.

Djokovic leads Robredo in their FedEx ATP Head2Head battle by 6-2, but the 11-time Grand Slam lost his last meeting with the Spaniard at the Cincinnati Masters back in 2014. However, the Serb could prove too much for Roberto at the tournament, which is also headlined by world No. 4 Stan Wawrinka and Tomas Berdych.

"No doubt that I'm playing the best tennis of my life in last 15 months," Djokovic said after Melbourne. "Everything is going well privately, as well.”

"I became a father and husband, I have a family, so I feel like I'm at the point in my life where everything is working in harmony."

Djokovic lost to Roger Federer in last year’s edition of the tournament. But with the Swiss Maestro out possibly until the Indian Wells, the 28-year-old Djokovic heads into Dubai as the huge favourite to win the event.

Meanwhile, Wawrinka, who is coming off a stunning defeat against France's Benoit Paire at the Open 13 Provence, will start his campaign at the Dubai Tennis Championships against Sergiy Stakhovsky. Aussie tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios is also in action in UAE and will face Slovak Martin Klizan in the opening round, while third seed Tomas Berdych battles Portuguese Joao Sousa.
