“The Vampire” diaries is about to end for good. With that, fans have been seeing a lot of reunion photos and nostalgic drama on social media from the cast and the crew. The show had a good run and fans are eagerly awaiting how it will give them something to remember before it finishes.

Amongst the warm reunions, Nina Dobrev was recently seen with ex-boyfriend and co-star Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed. The three joined each other for dinner and even posted an adorable photo on social media to mark the warm and rare occasion.

The photo was captioned “can’t believe how time flies. Farewell dinner with team Somereed! So good catching up with these goofballs.” As expected, the photo, which was posted on Nina Dobrev’s Instagram account, had millions of likes in the first few minutes of posting.

News of this reuinon might have come as a surprise to some fans, given that several sources have claimed that Reed and Dobrev have been at war over Somerhalder. However, since production had begun for the final season of “The Vampire Diaries,” with Dobrev reprising her role as Elena Gilbert, it has been shown that there is no bad blood between her and the “Twilight” star.

In response to false rumours that there had been bad blood between her and Dobrev, Reed said that they thought addressing the chatter with silence would be the best way to shut them up. She adds that she does not want to respond to made up stories about friends backstabbing each other but understands that that is how Hollywood works.

Her silence was taken by news outlets as an opportunity to fill in the blanks to their advantage by filling in with falsities to make things interesting, writes E!. With this, she and Dobrev felt that they had a moral responsibility to put an end to those false narratives.

Reed says that at the end of it all, it is their fan bases that lose. Their love for a TV show is taken advantage of and is replaced by feelings of divisiveness and anger.

For Dobrev, she has always been mature about her split with Somerhalder. She says that she had already clarified before that she and Somerhalder did not break up because something bad happened or because there was no love between them. She still loves him and the friendship is still strong and healthy. She thinks Somerhalder is great and she still cares about him a lot, and none of that changed.

“The Vampire Diaries” series finale will air on Mar. 10, 2017 on The CW in the US. In Australia, it will air on Fox8.
