Ink stains on clothing are common, but they are not the end of the world. What many people do not know is that removing these ink stains is not as tough as they think it is. By using simple household items, you can remove the ink stains easily without driving to a professional cleaner for help. Here are three suggestions by Fabhow on how to remove ink stains from your favourite clothing.

1 | Use salt and lemon

Things required:

  • knife,
  • liquid detergent,
  • stained fabric,
  • table salt,
  • lemon,
  • cotton balls,
  • clean light coloured cloth

Steps:

  • Take a light coloured cloth and use it like a base for your stained cloth by placing it underneath the stain.
  • Use the cotton balls to dab the stain. Keep dabbing until no more ink is transferred to the cotton balls.
  • Next, apply some salt on the stain with the help of lemon. Take a half lemon and sprinkle 4-5 pinches of salt on it.
  • Now start rubbing and squeezing the lemon thoroughly over the stain.
  • Repeat this step 3 to 4 times, until the stains begin to fade.
  • Now, use the liquid detergent over the stain and rub it for 3-4 minutes.
  • To finish off, wash the fabric with clean water and place it under sunlight for 3-4 hours to let it dry perfectly.

2 | Use vinegar and milk

Things required:

  • Stained fabric
  • A bowl of Whole Milk
  • ½ cup vinegar
  • A bowl
  • Liquid detergent

Steps:

  • Take a bowl, and pour milk into it. Take ½ cup of vinegar and pour in into the bowl containing milk. Mix it well and leave it standing for 10-20 minutes.
  • Soak the stain into that liquid. Immerse only the stained part of the piece of clothing.
  • Now, remove the fabric and rub the satin for a few seconds until the colour of ink is not visible. Wash it with clean water.
  • Lastly, wash it with liquid detergent and let it dry under sunlight.

3 | Use lemon and liquid detergent

Things required:

  • Stained fabric
  • 2 tablespoons of liquid detergent
  • ½ of whole lemon
  • A bowl
  • A knife
  • A toothbrush
  • One clean light-coloured cloth

Steps:

  • Use a light-coloured cloth as the base of your stained cloth by placing it under the stain.
  • Using a clean and soft toothbrush, mix 2 tablespoons of detergent with the lemon juice from half a lemon
  • Then, dip the toothbrush in the liquid mixture and apply it on the stain. Gently rub on the stain. Make sure you are using a toothbrush with very soft bristles.
  • Now rub the leftover half lemon directly on the stain, squeezing it as you go
  • If the stain is still visible, apply the mixture again and gently rub it with the toothbrush.
  • Wash the stained area in clean water after applying a bit of detergent.
  • Let the cloth dry under the sunlight.

These household methods are known to help remove ink stains without too much effort. However, for stubborn ink stains you may have to approach professional cleaners to get rid of the pesky ink stains from your clothing.
