“Thinking Out Loud” singer Ed Sheeran, 24, will get his much-needed break after the gruelling schedule of his world tour. His cousin, Jethro Sheeran, 29, has invited him to have a Portuguese retreat after Christmas for a few weeks.

Jethro, who is an aspiring singer, said they are planning a post-Christmas detox. He said Ed really took it in after he told him how the cleansing would make him healthier and help him on stage.

According to Jethro, the one who runs the Portuguese retreat is claiming he can change Ed’s relationship with food and alcohol. He was also told he and his cousin could relax and have some cleansing.

“It will be amazing for him (as) he’s never done anything like this,” Mirror quoted Jethro as saying. “I’ve been there three times now and lost 12 pounds in 10 days last time. You live on juices, exercise, do yoga and meditation.”

In addition, Jethro revealed that Ed is dealing with a hefty alcohol intake and that his cousin enjoys partying hard. He pointed out that the “Thinking Out Loud” singer is “a Sheeran from a good Irish stock.” .

Meanwhile, Ed was at the Mt. Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand, on Saturday, Dec. 12, for his world tour. Among the songs he performed are “Take It Back,” “Superstition” by Stevie Wonder, “Ain’t No Sunshine” by Bill Withers, “Loyal” by Chris Brown, “Know Yourself” by Drake and “No Diggity” by Blackstreet.

Ed took the stage after the performances of For Vance, Passenger and Rudimental. There was a sound system glitch after the three acts, which caused a minor delay before Ed’s performance, according to Stuff.

In other news, Ed will star with “Grey’s Anatomy” alum Patrick Dempsey in Sharon Maguire’s “Bridget Jones’s Baby” in 2016. The romantic comedy sequel also stars Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, Jim Broadbent, Celia Imrie, James Callis, Gemma Jones, Daniel Stisen and Lasco Atkins, among others.
