‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ star Daisy Ridley says Rey is great character

“Scrawl” actress Daisy Ridley, 23, is one of the new additions to "Star Wars" franchise. There is, however, not much known about the British actress’s character in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” named Rey, who is a scavenger on the planet of Jakku.
Ridley talked about her character with Entertainment Weekly during the world premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” in Hollywood on Monday, Dec. 14. "I think Rey is a great character for people to see and perhaps relate to her, and see something in her that they feel and connect with the story. That, I just think, is amazing,” she said.
The family name of Ridley’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” character is still unknown. Described as completely self-sufficient, Rey does everything for herself until she meets Finn (John Boyega).
Ridley revealed that she thought she was “cool” after watching “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” adding that the seventh instalment of the epic space opera moved her to tears.
During the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” premiere in Los Angeles, California, Ridley went for muted colours just like her co-star Gwendoline Christie, 37. With a wavy hairstyle, smoky eyes and peachy lips, the British actress wore a gown with a delicate layered white lace design clinched in at the waist with a thick belt, according to Mirror.
On the other hand, Christie was in a full-length layered gown. The “Game of Thrones” actress, who plays an officer in the First Order named Captain Phasma in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” paired her dress with a black bow tie worn loosely around her neck.
Before “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Christie starred in Francis Lawrence’s adventure sci-fi film “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay- Part 2.” In 2016, she will reprise her role as Brienne of Tarth in “Game of Thrones” Season 6.
