Singer Christina Aguilera muddles up a line as she belted out America’s national anthem at the opening of the Super Bowl, Sunday night. The singer made a mistake repeating the line found at the early part of the song, got lost in the moment and then eventually losing her place.

Jamie Stengle of the Associated Press said, Aguilera hit the note on the line, "What so proudly we watched at the twilight's last gleaming". The AP clarified that she was supposed to sing "O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming," Not only did the popular singer repeat the line, but she also belted out, with a ‘slight variation. Aguilera sang the line with the word ‘watched’ instead of ‘hailed’, noted AP.

Knowing the mistakes she committed, Aguilera was quick to call on millions of viewers to feel her performance rather than dwell on the repeated and slightly different line that she botched up in her performance.

"I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through," Aguilera was quoted as saying by the AP, after her much awaited performance.

Aguilera performed before the NFL football Super Bowl XLV game between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Her mistakes have prompted millions of viewers and members to use the different social networks, in giving their own voice and reaction on the unforgettable and embarrassing performance.
