Sometimes money is not that important, even if the offer is of $1 million. International pop artist Robbie Williams has reportedly turned down an offer of $1 million to perform at this year's AFL Grand Final in Australia, it has been reported. The 40-year-old was asked to entertain the audience with only three songs at the finale event but it turns out the "Rock DJ" singer was busy with his current Aussie tour and had to decline the million dollar offer due to his packed schedule.

Williams is currently in Australia for his "Swing" tour where he gave many outstanding performances including the one in Brisbane Entertainment Centre. The pop star will be hitting Sydney over the weekend and hence rejected the offer because of his intense travel plans, reports The Herald Sun. Chugg Entertainment, who are the promoter of Williams' tour, did not release any comments on the reports of Robbie declining the AFL offer.

The AFL has now replaced Williams with aging crooner Tom Jones and 24-year-old British heart throb singer Ed Sheeran to perform at the Grand Finale event. The AFL Grand Final is schedule to take plaice at Melbourne Cricket Ground on September 27, Saturday.

Sheeran expressed his excitement to perform at AFL and said that he is aware of the game's popularity in the country. "It wasn't a hard decision to agree to perform on such a big stage for the biggest sport in Australia. I'm excited to play in front of so many people with someone as iconic as Sir Tom and I'm also really looking forward to seeing what will be an amazing game," said Sheeran in a statement.

"I understand there will be over 100,000 people in the stadium for the Grand Final which makes this spectacular sporting event something I'm really looking forward to," Jones said adding that Australians are passionate fans for the game of football and he will be looking forward to have a good time.

Australia's national anthem will be sung by Olivia Newtown-John and local Aussie singer/songwriter Mike Brady will sing a new version of "Up There Cazaly." The event will be broadcast on Channel 7.
