The Royal Christening of Britain's Prince George holds memories of his late grandmother, Princess Diana, reports say. Attended by 22 guests, the 45-minute affair was held in the very chapel where Diana, Princess of Wales was laid in wake before her funeral in the year 1997. The event marked the first time for four generations of monarchs to gather and according to sources, the whole affair was William and Kate's choice.

Reporters who waited for the royals were not able to get an interview, sources say, underlining that Prince George's christening is indeed an intimate affair for the family.

Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge chose seven godparents for their little boy, Prince George. Most of the godparents are close friends of the couple but one stood out - one royal, a cousin, and a very close friend of Prince William's mother Princess Diana.

Thirty one years ago, Diana calmed Prince William during his christening while his father, Prince Charles looked on. The 3-month-old Prince George will someday become the head of the Church of England once he is crowned King. His baptism was held at the Chapel Royal in St. James's Palace in London.

According to LA Times, the attire of George Alexander Louis is the very same robe that his father, Prince William, wore during his own baptism in the year 1982.

Princess Diana died in 1997 when Prince William was 15-years-old. Express wrote that Prince William and Kate paid tribute to Princess Diana in secret. The royal couple reportedly took Prince George to see Princess Diana's family on the anniversary of her death.

The royals reportedly spent one weekend with Lady Sarah McCorquodale, Princess Diana's eldest sister. The then six-week-old George Alexander Louis together with his parents reportedly boarded a helicopter near Grantham to go the home of Lady Sarah McCorquodale. The reunion, reports say, happened on the 16th anniversary weekend of Prince William's mother's death.

Sources say that the second-in-line to the throne and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge are doing their best to keep in touch with their Spencer relatives.

Based on Express's report, it is unclear if Prince Harry was at McCorquodale's home on that same weekend. Sources say that Prince Harry and his brother William are very protective of Princess Diana's legacy.
