Petting dogs and playing with toy balloons and bubbles instantly became a headliner, thanks to Princess Charlotte of the United Kingdom for making the simple children’s party routine adorably regal during her first royal engagement in Canada.

Princess Charlotte, together with Prince George of Cambridge, attended a children’s party honouring military families in Victoria, British Columbia. The royal toddlers became instant celebrities as soon as they stepped out of the Government House’s lawn to partake in the celebration under Thursday’s fine weather.

Sporting a baby blue dress underneath a navy blue sweater and a pair of blue doll shoes, the 16-month-old princess was spotted petting big dogs and a rabbit. Meanwhile, three-year-old Prince George rode a miniature pony. The royal siblings also played with toy balloons and bubbles while doting parents, Prince William and Princess Catherine of Cambridge, look on.

Born on May 2, 2015, Princess Charlotte reportedly said “pop” as she played with balloons and called Prince William “dada” as she took her first steps in public during the children’s party.

For his part, a talkative Prince George enumerated everything he knows about lava as a balloon maker made him a volcano. Clad in a blue sweater matching his dad’s, Prince George came prepared for the occasion as he donned red short pants. The prince’s aura was different from what he had upon arriving in Canada Saturday. (Read: Prince George rejects high-five, handshake from Canadian PM)
