NBA 2K14 connectivity problems that have surfaced in the previous week have mostly been resolved but some players still report having issues with certain networked modes in the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game. The problem first appeared on Dec. 26 when 2K Games customer support reps stated on Twitter that NBA 2K14 devs Visual Concepts were aware of and are investigating reports of connectivity problems. Issues persisted for the next two days, plus periods during servers were entirely down.

According to Ronnie Singh, 2K Sports community manager, the devs have pushed at least two (server-side) updates in an effort to resolve the issues, first on the evening of Dec. 27 and the second one came shortly before 2 am ET on Dec. 30. The latest update appears to have fixed most of the problems with server connectivity and Singh made a public apology for the situation, saying, "Sorry for the frustrations over the weekend. Obviously it was an unforeseen circumstance."

Singh also acknowledge later that some Xbox One and PS4 players still suffer "temperamental" connections to the private online multiplayer games in the TeamUp mode and MyTeam mode. Some players report having attempted to load up their MyTeam in NBA 2K14 on the PlayStation 4 and were presented with the error message: "The 2K Sports Server isn't available at this time. Pls. try again later."

Some players continue to post complaints about various kinds of problems to the 2K Support Twitter account. The issues include game crashes with the PlayStation 4 error code CE-34878-0 when attempting to play the MyCareer and MyGM modes, visual glitches in the loading screen of MyCareer, a similar game crash to the Xbox One dashboard and the clear progress deletion in MyCareer.

Some fans are able to enter MyGM and MyCareer without any issue but because NBA 2K14 on Xbox One and PS 4 constantly checks in with the 2K Sports' servers, the overall menu navigation was reportedly slower than usual. Since the game verifies MyGM and MyCareer progress with servers, players who want to play offline will need to start a separate offline save game to either mode.

2K Sports rep was reached for comments and said, "We still see reports that Team Up and MyTeam are not working 100% of the time but the others are fixed. Devs are aware of the issues and are working to correct it as soon as possible." Singh also tweeted that the Online Association mode in previous-gen NBA 2K14 should be working now and that MyTeam should be back to normal in a few hours.
