Madonna showed that she could still teach a thing or two about going topless. The pop diva posed topless for "Interview" magazine and here comes a gentle reminder: she is 56.

Madonna's topless photo, first revealed by Refinery29, may have re-established that she truly is the "the living paradigm for the character-based, image-centric presentation of an artist," and that is how "Interview" describes the diva. Madonna's candid photo-shoot comes with an even more candid interview taken by David Blaine. USA Today found the topless photo so stunning that it said that Kim Kardashian might weep after seeing the photo. Kim K's reference comes as an obvious choice as she has recently posed nude for another magazine. While the 34-year-old reality star's nudity went controversial with allegations of heavy photo-shopping, it also became a means of poking fun as numerous memes about Kim's bare derriere soon hit the cyber-world.

Madonna gave a candid interview where she openly talked about her stint with drug abuse. She said that her new song "Devil Prays" is about how people took drugs to connect to God or to a higher level of consciousness. She said that a lot of people would do drugs to get closer to God. However, drugs give the illusion of getting close to God, she said. Madonna emphasised that drugs would ultimately kill and "destroy" people. She did not hesitate to admit that she had tried "everything once." She, on the other hand, drank a tons of water as soon as she went high so that she could get it out of her system. As soon as she was high, she was obsessed with flushing it out of her, she added. This was not the first time Madonna took off clothes for a photo-shoot. She even had a coffee-table book called "Sex." which had numerous erotic photos of her.

The Twitter world soon exploded with appreciation of how Madonna had presented herself in the magazine. Dan Wootton wrote that Madonna still knew how to shock and surprise. Bradley Stern called her "endlessly inspiring."
