Hollywood has placed its bets as Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao finally got toe-to-toe in Las Vegas on May 2. As the Filipino boxing champion Pacman lost to the undefeated Mayweather in the “Fight of the Century” that has been five years in the making, celebrities took to Twitter to express their cheers, support and dismay over the “uneventful” fight.

Rappler rounded up some tweets of famous people who took to social media to comment on the Mayweather-Pacquiao hype. Many have conveyed their disappointment over the result of the supposedly historic fight, including boxing legend Tyson who was underwhelmed by the match that he waited five years for. Donald Trump said that the fight was a “total waste of time” because he did not go all the way to Las Vegas to watch the aggressor win. Comedian Jim Carrey poked fun at the “big let down in Las Vegas,” wondering if he watched a boxing match or “Dancing With the Stars.” Josh Duhamel, clearly disappointed, tweeted that boxing deserved better than “running and ducking and holding and an occasional jab,” which for him was a “typical Floyd fight.”

Others commended Pacquiao’s tactics and believed that the Filipino boxer should have won the fight. Singer Ellie Goulding tweeted that Pacquiao won her over, while Harry Potter star Tom Felton tweeted the hashtag TeamPacquiao. Sylvester Stallone tweeted “MANNY PACQUIAO Without a Doubt the single Bravest and most EXCITING fighter to ever lace on gloves... No one comes close. SEEN them ALL!” Jimmy Kimmel, an avid Pacman supporter who previously had the boxer on his show “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” thanked him “making him his Justin Bieber.”

Meanwhile, those who rooted for Mayweather from the very start also cheered for their boxing hero. Tom Brady gave his full-on support for the American boxer in his tweet, while comedian Kevin Hart congratulated him for “making history” that night. Niall Horan of One Direction commented that Mayweather showed a “tactical masterclass” for not getting himself marks on his face. Rap star P Diddy clearly won a $250,000 bet against Hollywood superstar Mark Wahlberg, while A-list couple Beyonce and Jay Z sat at the boxer’s side of the ring, Mirror stated. Justin Bieber and David Hasselhoff also supported the undefeated champ.

Mayweather, undefeated in 47 fights, beat Pacquiao 48-0 on May 2 Las Vegas time. The fight took place at the MGM Grand Arena with over 16,000 spectators, including both boxers’ families and famous models, singers, rappers and Hollywood superstars. The record-breaking bout was apparently the richest one in history at $300million on points.
