Mel B is a liar, Kyle Sandilands claimed. The radio DJ, who has just started his new stint with partner Jackie O on KIIS FM, accused the former Spice Girls member of lying after she denied that she’s only in the new 2Day FM show for a few months.

In early January, Sandilands told the Daily Telegraph that Mel B was not going to be in the new breakfast show for the long haul.

“I know that already for a fact, she’s only there for three months, one hour a day as guest, which to me, feels like interviewing the same person everyday which would be a nightmare,” he said of Mel B, referring to the replacement 2Day FM show, which also stars Jules Land, Merrick Watts, and Sophie Monk.

A couple of days later, Mel B disproved Sandilands’ claim in an interview with news.com.au.

“I’m definitely on it longer than three months,” she denied.

But Sandilands was adamant, accusing Mel B of “lying.”

“She is on a three month deal. Whether they extend that or not, I don’t know. Whether she’ll want to do breakfast radio on a low rating station in Sydney while she’s touring America doing ‘America’s Got Talent’ in Michigan I doubt very much,” he maintained to news.com.au in a recent interview.

Sandilands and Jackie O ended their ten-year run on Southern Cross Austereo for Sydney’s KIIS 1065 in November after an alleged dispute with their salary, leaving the station’s breakfast slot open.

In December, 2Day FM announced that a new morning show headlined by Lund, Watts, Monk, and Mel B would be replacing the long-running and top-rating “Kyle and Jackie O.”

Meanwhile, Sandilands and Jackie O began their new show at their new home station on Monday, but Sandilands appeared to have forgotten that fact when he slipped up for a moment.

He was starting to play a Jessica Mauboy song when he said that he was still on 2Day FM instead of KIIS 1065. He quickly realised his gaffe, interrupting the song to correct himself.

“Okay, wow, I meant KIIS FM. Big mistake. Big mistake.”
