Keke Palmer was not impressed with her meal at the 2021 Met Gala Monday.

The first-timer, who hosted Vogue's live stream on the red carpet, shared a photo of her food on her Instagram Story and captioned it, "This is why they don't show y'all the food." Palmer made it clear that she was joking by adding, "I'm just playinnnn."

The photo showed a plate containing a small portion of vegetables, including corn, tomatoes, mushroom, cucumbers and some grains.

Palmer also shared the same snap on Twitter. "The menu chile," she wrote.

The image immediately sparked memes and jokes on Twitter, with some users comparing Palmer's meal to the infamous cheese sandwich from the Fyre Festival in 2017.

"They [are] feeding y'all like it's Fyre Festival," one person tweeted. Another Twitter user replied, "Didn't the Fyre Festival at least have a cheese sandwich?"

A third user shared a Saweetie meme where the rapper can be seen making her way to a McDonald's.

"Maybe being poor ain't too bad after all," another wrote, while a different user joked, "It's giving bougie hospital food."

Met Gala attendees have to pay $30,000 to $50,000 per ticket, with tables ranging between $275,000 to $500,000, Page Six previously reported, citing unnamed sources. Tickets costs are reportedly usually paid by the fashion brands that invite celebrities and models as their guests.

This year's Met Gala, whose theme was "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion," featured a sustainable plant-based menu.

Restaurateur-chef and Bon Appetit advisor Marcus Samuelsson picked recipes from 10 up-and-coming New York-based chefs: Fariyal Abdullahi, Nasim Alikhani, Emma Bengtsson, Lazarus Lynch, Junghyun Park, Erik Ramirez, Thomas Raquel, Sophia Roe, Simone Tong and Fabian von Hauske.

"After a difficult two years for the restaurant industry, this will showcase the work and tell the stories of a dynamic group of chefs while presenting an exciting menu of delicious, plant-based dishes. The gala offers an incomparable opportunity for emerging talent to elevate their careers and share their perspectives and craft," Samuelsson was quoted by Vogue as saying.

During the dinner, guests were served a salad with farm-to-table ingredients. The main dish was Bengtsson and Park’s creamy barley with corn, pickled turnips and roasted maitake. This was followed by Raquel's "Apple" — apple mousse and apple confit with a calvados glaze that was served in the shape of its namesake fruit.
