Australian soul, pop and jazz singer Kate Ceberano was kicked out of the Qantas Club Lounge on Sunday. The reason cited for evicting the “Bedroom Eyes” singer was her inappropriate footwear. Ceberano was wearing casual thongs, or flip-flops at that time.

She took to Facebook to air out her feelings regarding the matter. She even posted a photo of her wearing the flip-flops.

“Disappointed to be evicted from the Qantas Lounge after being a member since 1990 for wearing 'inappropriate footwear'? hahaha (new rules),” Kate posted on her official Facebook account.

Donning wrong footwear drew trouble for Kate but she later took to Twitter to support Qantas and posted the message below.

The singer was flying to attend the Caloundra music festival but got held-up by the inappropriate footwear incident. Kate wore a pair of open toe mules while she was travelling to Brisbane for the musical extravaganza. Notably, the dress code at the airline's metropolitan domestic lounges are quite strict. Thongs, bare feet, board shorts, beachwear, sleepwear, Ugg boots and gym wear are prohibited in these lounges, according to the official website of Qantas Airlines. Likewise, revealing, unclean or torn clothing as well as clothing with offensive slogans or images are not allowed.

Speaking on the issue, a Qantas spokesman told Fairfax Media that this was an appropriate opportunity to remind the visitors at Qantas capital city lounges about the dress code that applies there.

Qantas made an announcement earlier this year regarding their "smart casual" dress guidelines for the visitors in its Qantas Clubs and Business Lounges in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, Canberra and Adelaide. The airline reached out to its members to inform them about the new guidelines and they even gave a grace period until April 1 before it took effect.

Aside from this Qantas Airlines incident, The “Magnet” singer was also in the news a few days back for fumbling the lines of the Australian national anthem while performing at the AFL Grand Final, according to the Sydney Morning Herald (the SMH). It appears that Kate Ceberano is revealing a penchant for controversies. Or, it could just be just a series of bad luck
