Controversial rapper Kanye West's new album "Yeezus" finally lands number one on the Official UK Album Chart, according to the Official Charts Company.

"Yeezus" is West's sixth solo studio album released on June 18 under Def Jam Recordings.

The album contains 10 tracks and features collaborations from various musicians from different genres such as Daft Punk, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver, rapper Lupe Fiasco and singer-songwriter John Legend.

Apart from the UK Album Chart, "Yeezus" is also dominating the global iTunes Charts. However, it may not be the same in his Native America and Australia.

His latest album is only second to another hip hop artist's new record, J Cole's "Born Sinner" in the US. Meanwhile, local country music artists Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Harvey beat West in the Australian charts.

The Great Country Songbook from the duo outsold "Yeezus" by just over 100 copies. According to The Australian, rumours began to spread that the rapper's label "had demanded a recount of the sales figure."

West is currently enjoying fatherhood after welcoming the birth of his first baby with his girlfriend Kim Kardashian. The couple named their daughter, North West, who was born on June 15.
