Iggy Azalea is quite overwhelmed with her Grammy nomination for 2015. The 24-year-old Australian rapper is keeping her fingers crossed for the chance to snag the sought after award following the appearance of her name on the Grammy nomination list.

Azalea has experienced quite an eventful year as her hit single "Fancy" spent almost seven weeks at No.1 of the Billboard Hot 100. She also garnered various nominations this year, including best rap album for "The New Classic," best pop duo/group performance for "Fancy" and best new artist.

Her collaborations with other musicians in songs like "Problem" with Ariana Grande and "Black Widow" with Rita Ora were applauded and appreciated worldwide as well. With her chart topping numbers, she is the fourth solo female rapper ever to top the Hot 100 list. With both "Fancy" and "Problem" sitting at number 1 and 2 positions at one point, Azalea became the only artist since the Beatles to perform this feat.

Often cited as one the most influential figures in the Australian music industry, Azalea also saw some conflicts this year. Her feud with Snoop Dogg kept her in the limelight while her differences with estranged lover Hefe Wine also kept her in the news.

"It has been a pretty awesome year," gushes the Australian born entertainer to the Billboard publication. The rapper hopes to be included in the mix of all the singers whom she considers her idol, which includes Lil' Kim, Trina and Christina Aguilera.

Meanwhile, since the Grammy 2015 nominations were announced on Dec. 5, the rapper has also been dealing with social media backlash from those who question whether she deserves such honour, as told by Hollywood Life. Anti-Azalea tweets started trending on Twitter, dissing the rapper and stating that she is not worthy enough for the award.

One of the most talked about categories where the rapper was nominated is the Best Rap Album, in which she will be competing against other rappers like Childish Gambino, Common, Wiz Khalifa and Eminem.
