Leaked images of Huawei’s next flagship smartphone, the supposed Huawei P9, suggest dual camera module and metal body. The images showcase the design of the smartphone with what looks like a back-mounted fingerprint reader.

There were contradictory reports which suggested that Huawei might kill its fingerprint scanner on the back and incorporate it within a physical home button. But the recently leaked render of Huawei P9 shows a back-mounted fingerprint sensor, as reported by Phone Arena (via MyDrivers).

Huawei also opted for a fingerprint scanner on the back panel for its flagship devices like Mate 8 and Nexus 6P.

The Huawei P9 will reportedly sport a metal body and a 2.5" curved display screen. The recently leaked images, however, reconcile with previous speculations that the Huawei P9 will sport a dual-camera set-up. One of the two rear facing cameras may host a 12-megapixel sensor, according to unconfirmed reports.

The leaked render displays the Huawei P9 in five different colour variants including Black, Grey, White, Gold and Pink. The supposed smartphone is expected to come with considerably upgraded specs than that of Huawei P8 launched back in April 2015.

The smartphone is expected to feature a 5.2-inch display. The P9 will likely be powered by the latest HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor, whereas its predecessor runs on Kirin 935 chipset. Other speculated Huawei P9 specs include a massive 4GB of RAM and 3,000 mAh battery.

If rumours are to be believed, Huawei will come up with four variants in its P9 series of handsets including a regular P9, a pocket-friendly P9lite, a giant screen P9max as well as a “feature-enhanced” version.

Speculations indicate Huawei will skip the MWC 2016 and unveil the supposed handset at a separate event in March. However, the company is yet to confirm the Huawei P9 release date.
