Huawei might unveil a Surface killer laptop hybrid at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 which is scheduled to kick-off on Feb. 22 in Barcelona, Spain. The rumour mill suggests the upcoming device is likely to be the anticipated Huawei Matebook.

Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong posted a new teaser image on his official Weibo page, spotted by GizmoChina, indicating the possible release of a stylus-touting device targeted at business users.

The teaser image which reads “The new style of business,” seems to point towards the imminent launch of a hybrid device specifically meant for business users. The teaser also substantiates a stylus for the product.

Speculations are rampant that the MWC 2016 will see the announcement of the long awaited Huawei Matebook. The alleged laptop hybrid will feature a 12.9-inch display with an Intel processor onboard, as speculated earlier. Many details on the hardware specifications are not available at this point.

The Huawei Matebook will most probably run on Windows 10 and focus on business oriented features of the OS. However, earlier there were reports that the Huawei will come up with a laptop hybrid with a detachable keyboard running on both Windows and Android operating systems.

In the 2-in-1 PC market, the Huawei Matebook may prove to be tough competitor against Microsoft’s Surface lineup in the future.

For those who are not aware, a dual-OS hybrid laptop PC can boot two operating systems. A hybrid laptop can be used as a standard laptop as well as a tablet with a detachable keyboard.

Last year, in November, Xiaomi launched its Mi Pad 2 with dual OS. The 64GB variant of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 can run on both Android and Windows 10 OS.

Huawei is also expected to refresh its P series of smartphones. But there are no confirmed reports on the Huawei P9 release date. The company rumoured to launch four variants of the P9 this year. There are speculations that Huawei may skip the MWC 2016 and launch the P9 later in March at a separate event.
