After the successful venture of its Nexus 6P, Mate 8 and Mate S last year, Huawei will now reportedly come up with four variants in its P9 series of handsets.

As reported by Venture Beat, Huawei will offer a regular P9, a pocket-friendly P9lite, a giant screen P9max as well as a “feature-enhanced” version which falls between the regular P9 and P9max. The fourth model will offer more RAM and internal storage space along with a dual-lens and dual-sensor 12-megapixel rear camera unit.

The “feature-enhanced” variant will be able to perform functions such as replicated aperture alteration, post-capture refocus and filter application. A report by Phone Arena suggests that one of the four variants of the upcoming P9 series will be powered by Huawei's own octa-core Kirin 950 processors.

Huawei first introduced the Honor 6 Plus with dual-camera sensor in late 2014. The new advanced variant of P9 will further be refined and expected to come with top-notch functionalities.

In 2015, Huawei launched three P8 smartphones with various screen sizes. The regular P8 measures 5.2-inch, the affordable P8lite variant comes with a 5.0-inch display and the giant screen P8max features a 6. 8-inch screen.

Speculations indicate Huawei will intentionally skip the MWC 2016 to launch the P9. The alleged handset will be unveiled at a separate event in March. The Huawei P9 will reportedly be the first handset in the P series to feature a fingerprint scanner. A new leaked schematic render also revealed the handset will sport a physical home button hosting a fingerprint scanner.

Meanwhile, the company is also expected to launch a laptop hybrid with dual-booting option. The company is said to enter the PC market with the announcement of its new dual OS laptop which can run on both Windows and Android.
