With barely a month and one week before "Homeland" Season 3 hits the tube on Sept. 29, Showtime releases its first official poster and a new teaser, both featuring Carrie Mathison (Claire Daines) and the two men in her life: her love, Sgt. Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis) and her confidant, Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin).

The official poster, with the tagline “Pledge Allegiance” features the three lead characters in Homeland, showing Carrie in the middle, Saul to the left and Brody to her right.

The Huffington Post noted that the newly released promotional material “sets the tone of the new season and how the relationships have changed” between the characters since the final episodes of Homeland Season 2.

If Brody had Carrie to back him up, will she remain loyal to him, as her lover? Or will her first love, her profession as top CIA agent come into play? If Saul Berenson has covered up for Carrie when she had her meltdown and for even caring for her when she got out of the hospital, will Saul still be Carrie’s shoulder to cry on in the upcoming season?

Fox 21 president, Bert Salke hinted in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Aug. 8 that this is going to be an “emotional season” for Showtime’s hit series.

"There are bigger developments character-wise this year than there have been. The best Homeland script that I've ever seen writing-wise was this year . . . And I think they're playing at that level," Salke was quoted as saying in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, according to Enstarz, noted in a separate IBTimes-AU report.

Meanwhile, Showtime also heat things up a bit more for Homeland as it released new teaser, also featuring the trio in the 71-second video.

With a tune by Adele, the new video offered no dialogue among the three characters. But the scenes used in the promotional featurette hinted a very intense storyline for the upcoming season.

Editing of the images had made it look as if there will be some kind of confrontation between Saul and Brody, prompting us to think that indeed Carrie will be made to choose between the two important men in her life. A lost Carrie, who was revealed by Damian in a tour Monday as out of her meds, was also featured in the teaser and Brody, all baldy, appeared out to get someone, or hurt someone or defend himself with a gun. (Spoiler)It will be recalled that in the first teaser, released early this month, Brody was seen all bloodied from gunshot wound.

His family has what all in his mind, said Damian Lewis at the recent Television Critics Association Summer Tour.

“Uppermost in his mind is his family, always,” Damian said, according to Access Hollywood. “But, honestly, at this point, if he’s caught, he’s going to the chair. There is so much overwhelming evidence against him and there is such a great need for a scapegoat and for the CIA to make a recovery, and for the U.S. President, that fictional President who is there at the White House at the time, to make a recovery [and] bring someone to justice.

"Homeland" Season 3 premieres on Sept. 29, Showtime, 9 p.m.
