“Home and Away” recap

On Tuesday, Tori was concerned that Mason’s slip-up about them being under the witness protection program would put them in danger once again. Later, Nate introduced her to a guy who just arrived at Summer Bay. Tori reckoned she saw him before, but quickly dismissed the thought. At the hospital, Tori teased Nate when a co-worker flirted with him, but he said it’s all in Tori’s head.

Later, Tori got into a slight accident when she accidentally bumped her head on a trolley. Nate volunteered to clean her head wound. The two talked about Gretchen, their colleague who seemed to have the hots for Nate. It was Nate’s turn to tease Tori, asking her if she’s jealous. At home, Tori shared with Justin what happened and the two talked about having normal lives and having relationships. Justin reminded her that their family is not normal. He teased her about Nate, but Tori said she has zero feelings towards him. However, thinking about Nate brought a smile to Tori’s lips.

Matt, after seeing Andy putting some bags inside a car’s trunk, wondered if he’s going somewhere. Andy made some excuse and changed the subject, but Matt commented that he’s acting really weird. Matt tried to probe for the last time if there’s something going on, but Andy said there’s nothing. Satisfied with his answer, Matt left to pick up Evie to go to Josh’s sentencing. Shortly after, a guy showed up at the garage and Andy confirmed that everything’s going according to plan.

The same guy was seen wearing a police uniform a few moments after, ushering Josh from a vehicle to the courtroom. Inside, the judge walked in and handed down his decision. He said that despite the evidence of motive, the evidence did not prove that Josh shot Charlotte intentionally. Given that, the judge reduced the charge to manslaughter, sentencing him to 25 years imprisonment, with a non-parole period of 20 years. Evie was clearly devastated. The judge then asked the police officer to escort Josh back to the van which will take him to the correctional facility.

Outside, the police told Josh to keep moving slowly while he was clearly looking for someone. A car came rushing towards them and the police ordered Josh to punch him. Josh did what he was told, then ran quickly and got inside the car. Evie screamed for his name, while Kat rushed to chase them. Evie immediately went over to Ash and lashed at him, asking if he knew anything about it. Ash said he didn’t, while Evie was beside herself, worried that Josh would be killed.

After driving for a few miles, Andy and Josh stopped to change cars. Before throwing off a mobile phone, Josh sent his last text message to Evie: “Sorry. Love you forever, Josh xxx.” Inside the car, Josh asked his brother, “No regrets?” and Andy replied, “No.” The two drove off, away from Summer Bay and towards their new life. Meanwhile, Evie cried her heart out, realising that the love of his life is gone for good. Later, Matt came over Evie’s house and tried to be optimistic – he’s sure they’d find Josh a few months from now. Evie wondered why everyone she loved disappear, and Matt said it’s not true. “You still got me,” Matt said, adding that he’s not going anywhere.

Meanwhile at the beach, Justin went for a swim and felt like someone’s watching him. Someone indeed was – and it’s Nate’s new friend. The mystery man was on the phone with someone, saying he’ll call when it’s done. Later, Nate was left alone at the hospital. While he’s busy working, someone’s preparing an injection and shortly after, stabs Nate with it in the arm. Nate fell to the floor, unconscious. The man took his mask off to reveal his face – it was his new friend.
