Google Store is offering $50 off on both the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P devices to celebrate its first anniversary.

The Nexus 5X price now starts at $299 (AU$397). On the other hand, the starting price of Nexus 6P is $449 (AU$596). Other promotional offers will not be affected by the current deal. This means buyers can still get a $50 discount coupon on a Huawei Watch when they get a Nexus 6P from Google Store.

The offer will be valid until March 27, 2016, confirmed Google. The deal is applicable to customers in the US and Canada.

Meanwhile, Google recently announced the Nexus 5X for its Project Fi wireless service plans. Launched back in April 2014, Project Fi is Google's inexpensive mobile phone service. Initially it was an invitation-only system. However, the search giant has made the service invite free and launched a special promotional price for the Nexus 5X, according to the Android Official Blog.

“Today, we’re excited to be exiting our invitation-only mode and opening up Project Fi so that people across the U.S. can now sign up for service without having to wait in-line for an invite,” wrote Simon Arscott, product manager at Project Fi.

With Google’s Project Fi, the 16GB Nexus 5X starts at $199 (AU$264). The special promotional offers are good through April 7 .

All the users of the Nexus 6P made by Huawei, the LG-made Nexus 5X and the earlier Nexus 6 are compatible with Project Fi's network.

Users can pay only a $20 base fee for unlimited texting and calls, Wi-Fi tethering and international coverage supported in more than 120 countries. Additionally the Project Fi will charge data fees of $10 per GB of data used.
