While football is a game of the macho, FC Barcelona defender Gerrard Pique isn't ashamed of admitting that he is still traumatised by the experiences that he had with his former skipper at Manchester United, Roy Keane.

The Irishman is known to be one of the fiercest leaders - and that's very much an understatement - on and off the pitch during his heydays and it did not take the La Masia product, who was then a teenager, too long to notice.

"I wouldn't say I was scared of [Sir Alex Ferguson]. Roy Keane? Well, maybe that's different!" Pique told FourFourTwo

"I remember we were in the changing room at Old Trafford and my phone started vibrating."

"Keano could hear the vibrations and went crazy trying to find out who the phone belonged to. That's who he was."

Pique even made a shocking revelation that he even resorted to hiding, just to avoid the 43-year-old.

"Before we [Barca] beat Celtic 1-0 last season, I noticed him by the side of the pitch as a pundit as we went to warm up," he added.

"I hid my face with my hand because he still scares me. I was 26 years old, and I was sh*tting myself!"
