Ellen De Generes showed the world that even the hugest of stars in Hollywood also take selfies. The host pulled off a great show as she hosted the 86th Annual Academy Awards. The openly gay comedian is the only second woman to solo host a show aside from Whoopi Goldberg and her jokes were right on for the evening.

The comedian joked about Hollywood royalties including Jennifer Lawrence who had also won an Oscar for her role in "The Silver Linings Playbook." Ellen had joked about Lawrence's tripping before getting the Oscar. She had also tripped while on the red carpet to the 86th Annual Academy awards. Ellen had jokingly said to Lawrence, "If you win tonight, I think we should bring you the Oscar."

The audience erupted into a fit of laughter. Ellen had also joked about Jared Leto's long hair noting that he was the "prettiest" of all the nominees. Leto was also nominated as the night's first winner.

Cate Blanchett won best actress for the movie "Blue Jasmine," while Matthew McConaughey won as best actor for the movie "Dallas Buyers Club."

Making history was the movie "12 Years a Slave," which won best picture. The Academy awards surely was a memorable one from Ellen ordering Pizza and having Harvey Weinstein, producer at the show, pay the tip to the pizza guy. Ellen had said to Weinstein, "No pressure, only a billion people are watching, whatever you feel is right." She had also poked fun at Jonah Hill for his role in "The Wolf of Wall Street," where he was seen masturbating. Ellen joked, even noting her sexual preference by saying:

""You showed us something in that film that I have not seen for a very, very long time," the crowd once again laughed at the right on joke that Ellen had made. She also made sure to well document the evening posting updates and photos of the night.

She had also decided to talk about who would win the Oscars saying:

"Possibility No. 1, '12 Years a Slave' wins best picture. Possibility No. 2, you're all racists."

Present that evening was her wife, Portia De Rossi, who wowed the crowd in a beige sparkling gown.
