Delta Goodrem suffered a medical emergency on the set of “The Voice Australia.” The 30-year-old songstress reportedly had to walk out of the set of the Nine Network reality talent show last week after she had trouble breathing.

Woman’s Day reports that Goodrem had a brief health scare in front of around 200 audience members and her fellow judges inside the studio. She was about to give her feedback to a female participant when she started faltering in her speech.

“Give me a second,” she barely let the words out. She then ripped her mic from her ear and walked out of the studio abruptly.

A senior producer from the show allegedly explained what happened to the singer/actress to the studio audience and the judges, British pop star Jessie J, American twin rockers Joel and Benji Madden, and Puerto Rican crooner Ricky Martin. “Delta’s not feeling very well,” the producer said, adding that Goodrem complained of “pressure” on her chest. However, he assured the concerned audience that Delta was being taken care of backstage.

After over 10 minutes, Goodrem came back to a cheering audience. She took Martin’s arm for support as she went back to her seat. Although the short episode worried everyone inside the venue, the ARIA winner’s spirit was still up.

“You were so good I just had to pass out!” she joked to the female contestant on stage. A spokesperson for the network said Delta’s health scare was due to the heat in the studio and her exhausting schedule. She was able to complete the filming, though, despite the worrying incident.

At the age of 18 in 2003, Goodrem was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She underwent chemotherapy and radiotherapy to beat the lymphatic cancer.

Apart from judging the fourth season of “The Voice Australia,” Goodrem is also releasing her next single “Only Human” on Friday. She will also be returning to “Neighbours” for the soap’s 30th anniversary this month. Her character Nina Tucker was a regular in the show from 2002 to 2003, and had become a returning character in 2004 until 2005.
