Singer Chris Brown, who is being investigated for the alleged battery of a woman, took to Instagram Wednesday, suggesting his innocence.

The Grammy-winning singer has been accused of hitting a woman at his Los Angeles home last week. Police said they checked on Brown’s home at around 7:30 a.m. on June 18 following reports of the singer striking a woman during a spat.

A spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department told E! News that Brown was not home when the authorities arrived. Hence, no arrest was made. However, the LAPD completed a report for battery and submitted the crime report to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office for consideration.

A few details about the incident have been released, but TMZ reported that the woman accused Brown of punching her in her head hard enough for her hair weave to fall over. It remains unclear if the singer would face charges because of the incident.

While Brown refused to respond directly to the accusations, he posted an Instagram Story on Wednesday to imply that the reports against him were all lies. A few hours after reports about the incident surfaced, he posted an IG Story that says “YALL SO DAMN,” followed by crying-laughing emojis.

The 32-year-old singer has faced a slew of legal troubles since 2009. That year, he was arrested for physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Rihanna. He was sentenced to five years of probation after he pleaded guilty to felony assault.

In 2017, Brown made headlines once again when Karrueche Tran, his ex-girlfriend, was granted a five-year restraining order against him for allegedly physically assaulting the model. The following year, he was arrested for presiding over a drug session at his mansion in Los Angeles, where a woman was allegedly raped by two of his associates. Brown privately settled the lawsuit in 2020.

Brown was also detained in Paris in 2019 after being involved in aggravated rape and drug offenses.
