Adrian Broner has claimed that Manny Pacquiao’s camp has contacted him for a probable fight in 2016. The outspoken fighter also had some things to say about the Filipino boxer.

"I hear they want me to fight Pacquiao next. Michael Koncz actually called me,” Broner said in a YouTube video via Fight Hype. “We are waiting to hear from [Pacquiao]."

Broner is a four-division champion, winning the World Boxing Organization (WBO) super featherweight, World Boxing Council (WBC) lightweight, World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight and super lightweight titles in the last four years. Koncz is Pacquiao’s long-time adviser.

In the same interview, Broner admitted that he has no problems facing southpaws like Pacquiao, whom he called one of the elite fighters in the sport. Broner also stated that he’s a big name in boxing as well and that he’s on the same level as Pacquiao.

“I love fighting southpaws. Just check my record,” Broner added in the video. "He’s a great guy. It would be a hell of a fight, a young rising star against an elite Hall of Famer on his way out."

Broner, who is known to be a trash talker and outspoken against his rivals, also fired some against Pacquiao.

"Can’t wait to send him home, back to the Philippines and go be [a] governor," Broner said.

The 26-year-old Broner, who is from Cincinnati, Ohio in the United States, has a record of 31 wins against two losses since turning pro in 2008. The American has 23 knockout victories, but his two defeats came in the last three years.

Broner lost to Marcos Maidana via unanimous decision in 2013 for the WBA welterweight belt. He won three straight, against Carlos Molina, Emmanuel Taylor and John Molina Jr., after his first career loss. He fell to Shawn Porter in a title fight in 2015. However, Broner managed to bounce back in his last fight, winning against Khabib Allakhverdiev to win the vacant WBA super lightweight title.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao is reportedly appearing in the final bout of his career, possibly on April 9, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Other boxers being considered as Pacquiao's next opponent are Timothy Bradley, Terence Crawford and Amir Khan.
