The popular Philippine gay-themed soap opera normally makes cliffhanger endings on Fridays, but on Wednesday, Sept 11, it chose to shock viewers. Could it be the significance of the date, being the anniversary of the 9-11 bombings in New York that GMA-7 decided to likewise drop a bomb on viewers with Vincent Soriano's suicide?
A few days after his abduction, Vincent, played by Tom Rodriguez, could no longer take the boot camp life and decided after a failed escape attempt to take away his life.
The suicide scene was shot in a truly dramatic fashion as he talks over the cellphone for the last time with his father, retired General Armando Soriano (played by Roi Vinzons). Then the gunshot is heard, the cellphone is seen dropping on the floor and blood spills on the floor.
The suicide attempt is an indicator that the bekiserye is about to end in October, although the other lead star, Dennis Trillo who plays the role of Architect Eric del Mundo, disclosed that they have been given a two-week extension.
Given that the show has a few more weeks to run, it makes sense that Vincent wasn't successful in his suicide try, but the attempt certainly jolted viewers. As a result, the Wednesday episode became trending in social media as viewers shared their opinion on the suicide try.

Vincent is in the hospital and doctors are trying to revive him. In real life, Rodriguez was confined at St Luke's Hospital last week for dengue, but he is slowly recovering from the ailment.
With the approaching ending of the bekiserye, Trillo, pressed for his thought on how the series should end, said he is not in favour of the gay couple ending up in each other's arms as Eric would then become a home wrecker.
