Edith Bliss, the popular Australian 80's singer has passed away at 52. For the past two years, Bliss was battling cancer but lost as she succumbed to the said illness.

Edith Bliss was known in the Australian entertainment industry as a singer, and released hit single in 1979 called "If It's Love You Want."

Bliss was discovered when she was accompanying her friend to an audition. The record label boss was impressed by Edith and decided to let her be a singer. After becoming making it in the music industry, Bliss found more fame and popularity as a TV presenter. She worked as one of the presenter in Simon Townsend's Wonder World.

Many people including celebrities expressed their grief towards the loss of Bliss. Simon Townsend expressed that he was "very, very sad to lose his friend and one of his favorite reporters on Wonder World". Jono Coleman, who was able to interview Bliss, also shared his thoughts about the star saying "She had that huge smile and was just a great person to be around."

Eden Tanner, one of Bliss' four children posted a message on her mother's Facebook page.

"Today the world lost a wonderful mother, a compassionate friend and one hell of a woman. She passed very peacefully early this morning and her infectious spirit will be missed by all. You're with the angels now, Mum.''
