Four outstanding Australians will be honoured at the ninth annual G'Day USA LosAngeles black-tie gala in January: Guy Pearce, Air Supply, and Luc Longley.

They follow the steps of previous honourees like Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Rod Laver and Cate Blanchett.

Outstanding Aussie Honourees

Guy Pearce is an Emmy award winner just last September for the miniseries "Mildred Pierce," in which he got to star with Kate Winslet. He was also a part of in Academy Award winners like "The King's Speech" and "The Hurt Locker."

Second honouree is the Air Supply duo Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell. Their hits include 'Now and Forever,' 'All Out of Love,' 'Making Love Out of Nothing At All,' and many more.

Basketball star Luc Longley is the third on the list, standing at 2.18 meters. He has been able to team up with the great Michael Jordan for the Chicago Bulls who won at that time three championships at the NBA. He also played for Phoenix Suns, Minnesota Timberwolves and New York Knicks.

What Made Them Stand Out Above The Rest

According to the Australian consul-general in Los Angeles, all of these honorees have shown excellence in their fields while displaying the essence of being a true Australian. This is considered as a very important contribution of the promotion of their country in the USA.

It will be Aussie celebrity chef Guy Grossi who will work alongside the leading chef in Hollywood, Wolfgang Puck, to supply the sumptuous food for all the guests on the night of Jan. 14, 2012.
