Since its official release in October 2015, leading OEMs like Samsung, HTC, LG and Sony have started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow for its flagship devices. Motorola is also speedily releasing the Android 6.0 upgrade for its smartphones from 2015 and 2014.

Moto G (2nd Gen)

Currently the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is being rolled out for both the 2014 Moto G (2nd Gen) and 2014 Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd Gen) in India, as reported by GSM Arena. Last month, the company had posted release notes for the Marshmallow update on the official Motorola India Support website and started a soak test in India and Brazil.

Moto Maxx and Moto Turbo (2014)

Motorola is said to be getting ready to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Moto Maxx (2014) and Moto Turbo (2014) by March 2016. The devices are believed to be in pending partner support, which means the mobile phone manufacturer and the partner mobile networks are trying to reach an agreement to roll out the update.

Motorola Droid Turbo 2

Motorola has confirmed to roll out the Marshmallow update to Droid Turbo 2. Customers can also avail the update via custom ROM. Automobile has provided a quick guide to download and install the custom ROM. However, users should be aware of the consequences of installing a custom ROM.

Moto X Pure Edition (2015), Moto X Style (2015) and Moto G (3rd Gen)

To quickly summarise, the Android 6.0 marshmallow firmware update for Moto X Pure Edition (2015) started in December on a number of US carriers. The same smartphone was launched a s Moto X Style in other parts of the world. The device was updated to Marshmallow in Europe, India and Brazil.

The unlocked units of latest Moto G (3rd Gen) in the US and Canada have also received the Android 6.0 update, as reported by Phone Arena.

Motorola is also expected to roll out the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow in the first quarter of 2016. Meanwhile, Motorola Moto 360 (2nd Gen) is getting a software update which will bring Marshmallows features to the smartwatch.
