The last major System Update for the Xbox One had been in November 2015. It had introduced the New Xbox One Experience, which had integrated Microsoft’s next-gen console with the Windows 10. This time, fans are starting to wonder when they would be able to get more features for the Xbox One.

With stability fixes now delivered during the holidays, the Xbox One team is now reportedly turning back to exploring some new features to come to the Xbox One. DualShockers has spotted a Twitter conversation from Mike Ybarra, Xbox director of Program Management, where he shared that more information will arrive in the coming week. In another Twitter response, he said that a preview update will come soon, though no details have been given as of yet.

Xbox One fans who are also subscribers of Xbox Live Gold do have something to look forward to over the weekend. Starting Jan. 19, Xbox Live Gold Members can play all the games on EA Access for free. Microsoft previously announced this via the Xbox Wire.

For six days from Jan. 19 to 24, the EA Access Vault will be open to Xbox Live Gold members via the Free Play Days. During this time, Xbox One gamers can enjoy unlimited access to games like “Dragon Age: Inquisition,” “Battlefield Hardline,” “Titanfall,” FIFA 15,” “Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare” and “Peggle 2,” among others.

EA Access is currently offered only for the Xbox One platform. It gives a couple of incentives for Xbox One players, such as a 10 percent discount for digital purchases of EA games on the Xbox One. What’s more, thanks to the pre-release access to some games, players can enjoy them before other platforms.

The pre-release access is for the actual games, so any progress made can be carried over once the full game is purchased. The Free Play Days promo will also conclude with the offer to be part of the EA Access for US$4.99 (approx. AU$7) for a month or US$29.99 (approx. AU$44) for a yearly access. All the progress and achievements earned during Free Play Days will be carried over to the games.
