Fans are still in shock after what happened in "The Walking Dead" Season 5 midseason finale. The survivors are shattered after Beth Greene died in Episode 8, "Coda." What is next for Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Michonne, Carl Grimes, Maggie Greene, Glenn Rhee and others in the second half of Season 5?

Warning: Spoilers Alert!

Rick Grimes has come a long way in the post-apocalyptic world. From farmer Rick, he has become the leader Rick who is brutal. Speaking of brutal, his leadership might be questioned by some in the group. However, Daryl Dixon is always going to be by his side, no matter what.

Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) talked to TV Guide about Rick Grimes in "The Walking Dead" Season 5B.

Reedus said that his character "has always got his back."

"Daryl would have run over the cop with a car too - he just would have run right through him. I don't think it meant Rick was more crazy... than anyone else," Reedus added.

He said that Rick still has humanity left in him and Daryl has him in his "peripheral vision."

"The Walking Dead" Season 5B: Post-Beth Greene's Death

Beth Greene's death is certainly going to impact the survivors. Executive producer Gale Anne Hurd talked to ETonline about how Beth's death will affect the group.

Daryl was close to Beth and she was one his dearest friends in the zombie-infested world. Now that she is gone, according to Hurd, it is going to "significantly affect" Daryl.

Hurd stated that Beth "was the least uncorrupted" by the apocalypse. However, she was also hopeful that things will get better someday.

"When you lose that spark, and you see that such a genuine and trusting character, and the fact that the zombie apocalypse even got to her, it's going to be a long road back for Daryl."

"The Walking Dead" Season 5B episodes air Sunday, February 8, 2015 on AMC.
