Iron Gate, the gaming studio behind the successful survival title "Valheim," recently announced it has revised its roadmap for this year. Unfortunately for fans, this would result in the delayed release of the Hearth & Home update.

Iron Gate revealed earlier this year an ambitious roadmap for its hit survival game "Valheim," which included major updates and smaller improvements to the game. However, it looks like the gaming studio might not be able to meet all of its targets for the year 2021. The developer shared on a recent update post on Steam, "As we're sure lots of you suspected, we won't be able to deliver four updates this year."

For fans wondering when they would see the release of the Hearth and Home update, Iron Gate confirmed it is still coming this year.

"We're now planning to launch Hearth and Home in Q3 2021." Probably to avoid any confusion, the developer also said it is "temporarily taking down the roadmap" to make changes, and apologized for the delay in updating the players.

In the same update post, Iron Gate revealed it had not prepared for a large influx of players. Also, the game's unexpected popularity unmasked a lot of bugs that needed immediate fixing.

The developer said, "Our priority has been to make the current experience as stable as possible and this has meant new content has taken a backseat. To put it clearly; we haven't been able to focus all of our resources on Hearth and Home until May."

Iron Gate also mentioned it does not want to release any update it is not confident about and not deserving of "Valheim" players' time. It also revealed it would release a much smaller roadmap and move to Mistlands after the Hearth and Home update.

"With that in mind, the new roadmap will be much smaller, but we've made the decision to focus on the big Mistlands update directly after we're done with Hearth and Home, putting aside the smaller updates for now."

The Hearth and Home update is the first major content update Iron Gate planned for "Valheim." While the update has not yet been released, the developer shared some images to give players an idea of what to look forward to. Apparently, players can build new pieces like dark wood window hatches and roofs. There are also new cooking station improvements. This includes butcher tables, spice racks and extra pots and pans.
