As the release date of “Twin Peaks” season 3 is approaching, Dale Cooper’s (Kyle MacLachlan) love for coffee and pie is apparently growing. Not only MacLachlan is eager to play the character once again but also his fans, who apparently are reminded of him nowadays when they take a sip of coffee or eat a cherry pie.

Many fans greet him on Twitter with posts about coffee and donuts. They often share their mutual love for the beverage and the dessert on the social networking platform. MacLachlan, being the generous man he is, replies to the posts with all his love and a pinch of humour sometimes.

A few days back, sports journalist Emma Quayle mentioned him in one of her tweets writing, “Not sure if this huge donut wall at the Australian Open is to celebrate the tennis or the impending return of Twin Peaks.” (See the tweet below.) MacLachlan’s reply to the tweet was “A policeman's dream.”

A fan asked MacLachlan why she is always reminded of him when she sips coffee on a moonless night and he replied, “Because that's what you do in a town where a yellow light still means slow down not speed up.” Certainly, fans can’t wait to watch “Twin Peaks” season 3. “Occasionally, and only occasionally, there’s just no time to fully savor that donut and coffee,” MacLachlan wrote in one of the other tweets recently.

Interestingly, a pie baking contest was sponsored by Weller book store of Trolley Square in Salt Lake City. The store was reportedly celebrating the book, “The Secret History of Twin Peaks,” penned by showrunners David Lynch and Mark Frost. The book was released in October 2016. The competition was inspired by Dale Cooper’s love for pie and coffee.

“Twin Peaks” season 3 will premiere on Showtime at 9PM ET on May 21 in the US. The show will be streamed on Stan in Australia at 1PM on May 22. For those who want to watch the previous two seasons, Showtime will air the old seasons on Sundays (starting from Feb. 5) at 8PM ET in the US. Australian audience can watch old seasons on Stan.
