After being criticized about his parenting skills, Tom Cruise was defended by his lawyer claiming that the actor calls his daughter every day.

Tom Cruise hasn't been publicly seen with his daughter Suri for almost 50 days. This raises eyebrows and criticism about his ability to perform his daddy duties. But Tom's lawyer quickly came in defense of his client saying that Cruise calls Suri every day.

"Tom has been in England shooting a film. He calls Suri every day, sometimes twice a day. He loves Suri and is a constant presence in her life. As in the past, when he's shooting in a foreign country, he has to rely on daily phone calls," Bert Fields told E! Online.

Tom and Suri have not been seen together yet since their trip to Disney World in Florida last August 16. Their reunion was in order for Tom to spend some quality time with his daughter who now lives with Katie in New York before he flies to London and resume work. And since Suri and Katie are almost always seen out together, Tom's presence in his 6-year-old daughter's life is questioned.

While there is no denying that Tom had always been a dedicated father to his children, it seems like he has been keeping distance. But it could also probably be because his busy schedule doesn't give him a lot of free time. The actor is currently in London filming another movie titled, "All You Need Is Kill."

Meanwhile, sources claim that Tom is keen to find a home in New York so that he could spend more time with his daughter, Suri.

"Suri is used to her dad being away filming and not spending every single day with him. She loves the daddy daughter time they get together," a source said.
