The previous episode on “Riverdale” opens with Archie (KJ Apa) himself tossing and turning in his underwear and asking Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) if she was still up and if they could talk. Betty responds with a firm “no.” These two can see each other through their bedroom windows, but are both hesitant to even communicate from that distance.

A little later, Archie shows up without warning at Miss Grundy’s (Sarah Habel) place while still shirtless. He appears to be dripping with sweat as it looks like he had jogged his way there. With a murderer on the loose, there really is very limited time to think about putting on a shirt.

Archie’s reason for coming is that he wants to confront his music teacher about the gunshot that they heard recently, which could have killed Jason Blossom. Even with his feelings of guilt, she insists that they can never tell as she could lose her job, Archie could get expelled and that they could both end up in prison.

Later on, the investigation on the murder takes full bloom and viewers also get to see Betty and Veronica Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) first best friend fight, which is a very familiar scenario in the comic books. But with Miss Grundy being a sexual predator and Reggie swinging both ways, this still looks like a very twisted version of the Archie comics’ characters.

The YouTube trailer for the next episode, titled “Body Double,” does not reveal much, but it looks like somebody will be getting framed. Archie, on the other hand, will be having a lot of time in bed with someone.

The official synopsis provides that just after new information surrounding Jason’s death will surface, Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) will find herself under suspicion and will be forced to come clean about the last time she and her brother saw each other. In the meantime, Archie will make a tough decision that will put his relationship with Miss Grundy at risk.

Betty will decide to revive the old school paper and will ask for Jughead’s help as she tries to investigate Jason’s death. Veronica and Ethel will work on exposing some of Riverdale’s football players after some rumours of a “shame book” start to circulate. After being grounded by his dad, Archie will need to find a way to make it to the Taste of Riverdale event where Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and the Pussycats will perform a song that he helped write.

This upcoming episode of “Riverdale” will air on Feb. 9 on the CW in the US and on SyFy in Australia. It also airs on Neftlix US and Netflix Australia.
