Previously on “Criminal Minds,” Jane Lynch returned as Diana, Spencer Reid’s (Matthew Gray Gulber) mother. Reid successfully helped the team from home while he took care of his mother.

In Season 12 Episode 12 of “Criminal Minds,” titled “A Good Husband,” Reid will do some fieldwork again as the brain of the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). The team will deal with a new challenging case, involving an unsub who attacks men with relationship issues. The team will do their best to determine why the culprit preys on troubled men and how she picks her victims. They also have to work quickly before she kills another one.

As shown in the promo video on YouTube, the unsub is apparently female. Her face was not shown, but she was wearing a skirt and high heels as she approached a man at a bar. The team’s target is most likely attractive, luring men before killing them unsuspectingly. Based on the episode title, the criminal may be targeting cheating and unfaithful husbands. She may have been a tormented wife as well, causing her to go against abusive males.

The teaser trailer also showed Joe Mantegna (David Rossi) explaining to someone that every investigation requires patience, but focus is most important. Dr. Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler) was also featured taking photos from her car. Matthew noted how their suspect chooses her targets. Toward the end, the team raises guns together at someone.

Jane Lynch will not be in “A Good Husband,” but she will be back in two future episodes. Season 12 Episode 13 of “Criminal Minds” will focus on her son, Spencer. Alana De La Garza and Daniel Henney are also set to appear on Episode 13, titled “Spencer,” which will air on Feb. 15, 2017. The storyline between Diana and Reid are also set to be closed soon.

According to Spoilers Guide, showrunner Eric Messer said that the “Spencer” episode will commence a journey for the character and the rest of the team, which fans may never have imagined to happen. It will be an intense experience for everyone. Messer added that they acknowledge the history of “Criminal Minds” and are having a good time bringing back people who made an impact, both positive and negative, on the characters.

“Criminal Minds” Season 12 Episode 12 will air on February 8 on CBS in the US. It airs on The episode is directed by Laura Belsey and written by Jim Clemente. More updates and details are expected soon.
