The ABC drama series “Revenge” has met its fateful demise. With the network’s announcement of the show’s cancellation, the season 4 finale has turned into series finale and could not have a more suitable title. Episode 22 is titled “Two Graves” and the question that’s left to be answered is the identity of the people who will be filling those graves. [Warning: Spoiler Alert]

The official ABC synopsis for the episode could not be more brief. It reads simply: “Backed into a corner, Emily is forced to admit her guilt, but she’ll have to decide how far she’ll go before admitting defeat.”

With Emily fighting to clear her name in Episode 21, it appears that she and her friends won’t be able to find a way out of Victoria Grayson’s trap until the very last episode. Victoria committed suicide and framed Emily for her death with the help of Mason Treadwell and now Emily is running out of options.

The investigator of the case is Emily’s ex-boyfriend Ben and he’s still smarting from the wounds of her rejection. She now only as her friends Nolan Ross and Jack Porter on her side apart from her father. With Emily being forced into admitting her guilt, does this mean that the series will end with the defeat of Emily Thorne?

Anyone who watches the show knows that Emily is not the kind of girl who will go down without a fight. With the series ending however, and with the finale title referring to graves, Will Emily and her nemesis Victoria Grayson lay in peace together in the end?

Executive Producer Sunil Nayar spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the series finale and said that there will be a lot of shocking moments. The creators wanted to have a mix of what the fans want along with some really unexpected elements. Now that David Clarke has been cleared of his crimes, the bittersweet ending for him is that he’s been diagnosed with a deadly disease. As for Emily, now that she’s revealed her real identity as Amanda Clarke and her archenemy is dead, she now finds herself right back where it all started, in a cell falsely accused of a crime. The difference is, this time it’s her and not her father behind the bars. In a way, the show has come full circle.

With only two more episodes left before the end, fans of the show must say goodbye to Emily Thorne regardless of her fate in the end. The “Revenge” series finale will air on Sunday, May 10 at 10 pm on ABC.
