World No. 4 Novak Djokovic will begin his campaign in the 2017 Wimbedon Tuesday against Slovakia's Martin Klizan. Djokovic, the three-time Wimbledon champion, has had the better of World No. 59 Martin Klizan in their previous three meetings.

The Serb is in the middle of his worst season since 2010. After capturing his first-ever French Open title last June, Djokovic suffered a third round-exit at Wimbledon before falling to Switzerland's Stan Wawrinka in the U.S. Open final. Soon after, Djokovic relinquished the World No. 1 ranking to Andy Murray and followed it up with a shocking second-round loss to Russia's Denis Istomin at the Australian Open. Last month, Djokovic was hammered by 7-6, 6-3, 6-0 by Austrian Dominic Thiem in the Round of 8 at Roland Garros.

After a torrid run, at least by his standards, Djokovic fired his entire coaching staff and partnered with childhood idol Andre Agassi. The duo came to terms on a temporary coaching deal that may or may not extend beyond the 2017 Wimbledon. For the first time in six years, Djokovic entered a non-Wimbledon grass-court tournament at the Aegon International last month.

Djokovic admittedly gained a lot from the short stint in Eastbourne. After winning the tournament without dropping a set, the Serb announced former World No. 7 Mario Ancic as the latest member of his coaching staff.

"Obviously I was not playing too many of the events in the week prior to the beginning of the Grand Slam in my career, but I decided to do so this time because I felt like I needed more matches in general. Especially on the grass, which is a unique surface that requires time for adaptation and adjustment, especially for the movement," Djokovic told reporters after the victory in Eastbourne.

Despite falling to No. 4 in odds makers' list of favourites for the 2017 Wimbledon, Djokovic is taking a ton of confidence into the third Grand Slam of the year. "I felt like this time I needed a proper tournament rather than just playing a couple of exhibition matches. I'm glad I've made that decision, and that I went to Eastbourne, because it was a very positive experience on and off the court as well. The people were very kind. It was a great week with a lot of good, positive energy," added Djokovic.

Djokovic's first-round would be the second match of the evening on Centre Court. The first match of Day 2 of the 2017 Wimbledon gets underway at 1 p.m. British Standard Time (BST) and 10 p.m. Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST).
