The U.S. presidential election is almost two years away, but political season has started with several politicians signifying their intent to replace U.S. President Barack Obama in the White House in 2017.

One of the presidential wannabees, former Fox News commentator and ex-Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, has started talking dirty by criticising the Obamas' parenting style, particularly allowing their daughters Malia and Sasha to listen to singer Beyonce.

Huckabee, who has signified his intention to run for the White House again, pointed out that the president and first lady "are excellent and exemplary parents in many ways," but allowing the first daughters to listen to Beyonce's music is not one of them.

He explains, quoted by Washington Post, "I don't understand how on one hand they can be such doting parents and so careful about the intake of everything - how much broccoli they eat and where they go to school and making sure they're kind of sheltered and shielded from so many things - and yet they don't see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyonce."

Beyonce, husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy were guests of Michele Obama at the White House for her 50th birthday in January 2014. She has also taken Malia and Sasha to Beyonce concerts. She likewise performed in the president's second inauguration in 2013.

His dig at the Obamas as well as Beyonce and Jay-Z appears to be to promote his upcoming book titled God, Guns, Grits and Gravy where he accused Jay-Z of exploiting Beyonce.

Huckabee described Beyonce as incredibly talented, albeit gifted, and with an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. However, he wrote that while she is a terrific dancer, some of her explicit moves are best left in their marital bedroom.

He also said Beyonce's songs are "obnoxious and toxic mental poison in the form of song lyrics."

As for Jay-Z, he said the rapper is a very shrewd businessman but could be "crossing the line from husband to pimp" by exploiting Beyonce as a sex object.

The Obama daughters, since November has been a social media favourite after their reaction to the pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey rite became viral and was criticised by a Republican staffer who turned out to have her own share of misbehaviour as a teen.

In December, a video of Malia's tight jeans also became viral when someone posted it on Vine and a football player commented on it.
