"Always great catching up with #SimonBaker but he won't confirm if upcoming #TheMentalist season is the last!" TV Week posted this tweet without further details.

It seems Simon Baker, who plays Patrick Jane, has not been as straightforward as his co-actor Tim Kang.

"This is our 7th and final season. Looking at the scripts now, it's so fun and such a great season!" Kang tweeted over a month ago.

Bruno Heller, The Mentalist creator, is gaining mixed reviews for "Gotham" on Fox. There are speculations that he would be focusing on the new superhero show and let go of Patrick Jane. In a previous interview, Heller himself has called Season 7 an "encore."

Tim Kang has been keeping his promise to document Season 7 even before it starts. The actor has also hinted earlier that The Mentalist is not likely to come back this year. The premiere is likely to air January 2015.

The Mentalist Season 7 is bringing in some of its best guest stars in its past 6-year run: Dylan Baker and Morena Baccarin, among others. Viewers will also meet Teresa Lisbon's (Robin Tunney) brothers. There has been no wedding spoilers for what could be the show's final season, but Heller has given a "happy ending" for Jisbon (Jane and Lisbon) in Season 6.

Rockmond Dunbar stays in the cast, but Emily Swallow is not likely to come back in The Mentalist Season 7. Joe Adler is also coming back, which means Wiley and Cho will have more chance to show the stark contrast if their personalities at FBI.

A new agent played by Josie Loren is also joining the FBI in The Mentalist Season 7.

"Trust me. This last season will be awesome," Kang has also said on Twitter, further confirming to his followers that there will be no new episodes after The Mentalist Season 7 finale. He also teased that Cho "might even smile every once in while," implying new developments in the quiet man's life.
