Mel Gibson’s ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva has decided to let bygones be bygones and dropped the charges she filed against the actor in a court hearing recently.

CNN international is reporting that Grigorieva's legal counsel also informed the Los Angeles County Superior Court that the singer is now allowing Gibson to see their child and asked the court to lift the stay away order she demanded earlier.

"She wanted to demonstrate she's a responsible, good, co-parent and she did this for the sake of the child," an unnamed source was quoted as saying by CNN International.

The singer has reportedly been banking on the domestic violence charges in hopes to get the custody agreement she wanted with the “Braveheart” star.

The former couple have remained mum about the change in direction of their custody battle and both their lips are sealed as to why Grigorieva had a change of heart.

The Los Angeles court has ordered actor Mel Gibson three year probation over domestic abuse filed against him by Grigorieva. The “Braveheart" actor has also been required by the court to do 16 hours of community service and undergo domestic violence counseling program.

The actor entered into the plea deal in mid-March at the Los Angeles Courthouse Airport in hopes to end the legal battle with former girlfriend.

To be officially booked on domestic violence charges, Gibson was asked by the El Segundo Police Department in California to drop by the police station on the eve of the premiere of his film, “The Beaver” at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas.
